Fight the Flesh

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh"
Galatians 5:16

Ever notice that when you give in to your desires, it happens when you are not walking by the Spirit? I certainly have!

When I don't read the Bible as often, or pray as often, meditate, I see myself having thoughts, feelings, and actions that isn't according to the Spirit, every distraction comes from the lack of seeking God. Walking in the Spirit.

I don't believe that the flesh can be dominant over us if we are walking in the Spirit. The Spirit is all powerful, there is no way that the flesh will take over our body's urge and desires over it. This verse is clear as to one of the outcomes of walking in the path set out to us by God. If you find yourself giving into temptation of any kind that coincides with the flesh - excessive eating, interest, lust, fornication - these are all actions of the flesh. However, with the Spirit they all can be tamed under our feet.

Seek thee the walk of the Holy Spirit - receive liberation from the torments of the desires of the flesh.

Lord, give us the ability to be able to walk by the Spirit. Strengthen our bond with You, and the desires in use to want to draw closer to You. Grant us the ability to not gratify the desires of the flesh. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen!
